If
you are looking for a place to enjoy premium handmade chocolates,
fudge, and ice cream in a charming, old-fashioned setting, be sure
to visit us in downtown Indian River, Michigan. Drost's Chocolates
is owned by the Lindgren family and has been a staple of the community for decades, where crowds are
known to stretch out the door on a hot summer's night. Our customers
enjoy a vast selection of chocolates and fudge that are freshly made
on a marble slab right behind the display cases. We are one of the
very few candy shops who create our chocolates by hand and not by
machine. The result is evident in the homemade richness and taste of
our fudge, truffles, creams, and a variety of other confections made
with milk, white, and dark chocolate.
Drost's Chocolates
is located in the heart of the famed
"Inland Route". We are nestled amidst some of the most exciting
boating opportunities anywhere in the state of Michigan. Today the
Inland Route is called the Inland Waterway - Michigan's longest such
stretch at 40 miles.
Inside
our shop you will find handmade chocolates, fudge, and other
delicious candies! Our chocolates are made with the original Drost family
recipes that date back to 1887. We offer homemade truffles, butter
creams, nut clusters, fudge, caramel corn, toffee, caramels, peanut brittle,
cashew brittle, pralines, peanut butter cups, and sugar-free
candies. Other treats include Jelly Bellies, old-time flavored candy
sticks, lollipops, giant jawbreakers, saltwater taffy,
locally made maple syrup and honey, teas, cocoas, seafoam, jams and
jellies, and bread
mixes.
Inside our ice cream parlor, we
serve twenty-four flavors of hand dipped Premium Mooney's ice cream.
We also have sundaes, shakes, sodas, floats, and malts made to
order.
